From the late 19th Century, Polish emigrants came to Toledo and found that their churches would ground their neighborhoods.
From Lagrinka to Kuschwantz, Poles set down roots. By 1900, the U.S. Census reported 4,475 natives of Poland residing in Toledo.
Poles quickly established a reputation of being hard workers; from owning small businesses, to middle class factory workers to professional doctors and lawyers.
Preserving our strong history, and preparing our next generation, organizers are raising funds for a Polish Cultural Center. The Polish community in Toledo and throughout the region is strong and proud. Contact us to learn more about this exciting venture and learn how you can help.
Thanks to the generosity of the Cleveland-Cliffs Foundation for supporting the Polish Cultural Center.
